JMH Contracting Inc. is a professional landscaping and excavation company offering services since 2016.  The company provides excavation, landscaping and snow removal services including but not limited to: snow plowing and removals, winter sanding, material spreading (sand, gravel, topsoil), septic system installations, driveway resurfacing, various excavation services, land clearing, road building, basement waterproofing.

JMH Contracting Inc. is currently looking for a General Labourer to join their team based out of Kirkland Lake Ontario.  This position plays a crucial role in supporting our operations during both the summer and winter seasons. The successful candidate will be involved in various manual labour tasks as they relate to landscaping/excavation projects in the summer, including road construction, gravel spreading, and material movement and snow removal and related activities in winter months. This role is to assist skilled tradespersons and to perform labouring activities at various sites.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·      Provide and assist with snow shoveling/removal and winter salting services during the winter months.

·      Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas.

·      Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete.

·      Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities.

·      Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel.

·      Work flexible hours during winter weather events.

·      Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain equipment.

·      Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment.

·      Assist in heavy-duty landscaping projects, including road construction, gravel spreading, and material movement.

·      Perform some manual digging using shovel in summer months as required.

·      Assist in installation blue skin in water-proofing jobs during summer months as required.

·      Participate in company safety training.
