Job Duties:
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
Prepare and cook special meals as per allergy requests
Participate in successful kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
Set up and oversee buffets
Clean kitchen and work area
May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies for buffets
Transfer skills to less skilled kitchen staff
Job Requirements:
Punctual
Food safe certification is an asset and required to obtain during employment
Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship, certificate is an asset
Must possess high knowledge and skill of preparing a variety of dishes
Maintain consistent food product quality, for guests’ satisfaction
Must have a passion for the business and a love of food
Excellent leadership and motivational skills
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution dexterity
Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through when necessary
A clear thinker with the aptitude to analyze and resolve problems
Capacity to work well under pressure, meeting production schedules and timelines
Ability to hold oneself and others accountable
Ability to communicate in English and comprehend English language
