Description
Position: Cook
Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $15 – $18/hr (depending on experience)
Working Hour: 35 – 44 hrs/week
Benefits: 4% Vacation pay
Job Duties:
- Prepare and cook complete meals and dishes for customers
- Prepare, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
- Check food and ingredients for freshness
- Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins
- Manages other employees in the kitchen
- Assists other cooks during the food assembly process
- Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on client preference
- Train and supervise kitchen helpers
- Maintain kitchen inventory, supplies and equipment
- Maintain good sanitation around work area
- Offers a creative menu to compete with other local restaurants
- Order kitchen supplies and equipment when needed
Experience requirements: Minimum 2 – 3 years of commercial cooking experience is required.
Educational Requirements: Completion of secondary school is required.
