Term: Full time (at least 30 hours per week) permanent Employment Full Time

Duties and Responsibilities
Working cooperatively with the centreHead Supervisor, the Program Director and the staff team to obtain the community resources, to support inclusive practice and address the needs of individual children
Support and collaboratively with other educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
Reports accidents and concerns immediately to the supervisor
Works with supervising teachers to continue learning about the philosophy of the Montessori program and to further understand the goals of the class and school
Maintains observation records and other required classroom logs correctly
Remains alert at all times, this means not using personal phones and sleeping during working hours
Provides direct instruction and or remedial help as directed by the supervising teacher
Shows initiative in the improvement of early childhood education, the program, and the curriculum by sharing ideas and participating in available training
Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
Participate in short – and long-term planning, evaluation and the annual program review
Requirements
Credentials
Early Childhood Education, ECEA Certificate
First Aid Certification
Food Safe Certification
1 year of experience as an ECEA is required
Physical ability to lift and assist children up to 15kg
