(Food Products Inspector)

 

We are looking for an experienced Food Products Inspector for The Daily Seafood Inc located at 135 Blake St Toronto ON M4J 3E2 Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Inspect products to ensure they meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards before distribution.

  • Examine raw and processed seafood for compliance with industry and government regulations, including freshness, temperature control, and proper handling.

  • Monitor production processes to verify adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, ensuring proper food handling, storage, and rotation to maintain product quality.

  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all perishables daily to ensure product quality.

  • Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.

  • Oversee portion control and ensure seafood products are prepared, garnished, and presented according to quality standards.

  • Accept and review special requests or specifications for seafood products to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

  • Work as part of a team to inspect and maintain food safety and quality control procedures within set time limits.

  • Instruct and assist kitchen staff or food handlers on proper handling, storage, and preparation techniques to maintain food quality and safety.

  • Maintain proper and adequate stock of seafood products, requisitioning and stocking items as necessary to ensure consistent supply.

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of all seafood products to prevent spoilage and contamination.

  • Document inspection findings, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records of quality control assessments.

  • Stay up to date on food safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure compliance with federal and provincial food inspection standards.

 

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary School Certifcate

Experience & Skills:               1 years to less than 2 years of experience in the food industry 

Language: English

 

Annual Salary: $56,160 to $57,000 for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay
