Interior Designer and Showroom General Manager
The ideal candidate will be a creative and detail-oriented individual with a passion for design and build. As an Interior Designer/Project Manager, you will play a key role in designing and overseeing certain aspects of our residential and commercial projects.
 
Interior Designer to lead the interiors team.
As a senior designer joining our team, you should be of a professional mind that appreciates architecture as much as interiors and is willing to work closely to support our projects and grow our interiors practice. As an integrated design team, we believe knowledge in both architecture and interiors will be an asset to any project and your overall growth in the company long-term. We are looking for an individual who has the drive and
ambition to expand our interiors practice into all areas of design including corporate, commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and institutional projects. Primarily in charge of the showroom.
 
Role Accountabilities:
  • Provide overview and leadership in all aspects of interior design: programming, schematic design working drawings and contract administration as well as leadership to junior and intermediate interior and technologist staff;
  • Prepare interior design proposals, contract documents, including floor plans, finishes plans, reflected ceiling plans, power and communication plans, interior elevations, millwork sections and details, schedules, general notes and information, all which must comply with Building Code
  • Develop renderings of conceptual designs for effective execution of working drawings
  • Be an effective communicator and relationship builder with clients and stakeholders and lead project meetings and client presentations
  • Prepare and overview preliminary costing and comparative material sourcing

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 15-20 years experience in an interior design related position
  • A degree in Interior Design from a refutable university
  • Experience with Interior Design drawing package coordination and production, including all relevant plans, elevations, details, schedules and specifications; familiarity with local Building Codes
  • Experience in programming, planning principles, materials and furnishings.
  • Strong design and leadership skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with design applications an asset
  • Has obtained or is working towards NCIDQ registration

Qualifications:

  • Diploma and experience in Interior Design/Architecture/ Construction
  • Experience with design tools such
  • Strong communications skills
  • Proficiency in problem solving and critical thinking
  • PMP Certification is a bonus
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in the interior design or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their design preferences, functional requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Develop and present creative design concepts, mood boards, and 3D renderings.
  • Source and specify furniture, materials, finishes, and fixtures that align with the design vision.
  • Create detailed design documentation, including space plans, floor plans, elevations, and specifications.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for interior design projects.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and the internal design team.
  • Oversee project installations and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and provide regular updates to clients.
  • Anticipate and address potential issues or challenges to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure design intent is realized during construction.
