Work Location: Candidates are required to work various routes, routes vary considerably; routes include travel through the province of British Columbia, across Canada. Travel may also through various towns, cities and provinces in Canada.
Wage rate: $27.50 per hour for 50 hours per week.
Education: Secondary school
Experience: No experience required
Job Requirement: Driver license (Class 1 or A)
Language: English
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- May drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Ensure safety and security of cargo.
- Perform pre-trip, enroute and post trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
- Record cargo information, Hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs.
- Perform brake adjustments.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
Working setting: The candidate should be available to work full-time in the day, evening, night, overtime or on weekends, if required.
