Machine Operator – Metal Machining

VACANCIES: 2

HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week

WORK SITE ENVIRONMENT:

• Noisy
• Custom machine shop
• Manufacture
• In shop

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers)
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery
• Clean and maintain work space
• Operate and set-up machines to perform repititive machining operations

CREDENTIALS: Forklift Operator Certification

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALIZATION:

• Turret lathes
• Brakes and presses

TRANSPORTATION / TRAVEL

• Public Transportation is available
• Own vehicle

WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

• Manual dexterity
• Hand-eye coordination
• Attention to details

OWN TOOLS / EQUIPMENT: Steel-toed safety boots

PERSONAL SUITABILITY:

• Excellent oral communication
• Reliability

EDUCATION:

• Other Trades Certificate or Diploma
• Or, equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE: 1 year to less than 2 years

LANGUAGE: English
