Ohana Poke is seeking for a F/T Chef.

Position Info:

• Position: Chef
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $32.00~36.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions:  1
• Work Location: 513 Fisgard Street, Victoria, BC V8W 1R3

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook meals or specialty dishes.
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities in the restaurant.
• Supervise the work of first cooks, line cooks, and other kitchen staff.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and the use of equipment to kitchen staff.
• Train staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
• Develop menus and ensure all food meets established quality standards.
• Prepare dishes tailored to customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
• Manage the recruitment and hiring of kitchen staff.
• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items.
• Coordinate and maintain the purchase, food costs, and repair of kitchen equipment.
• Instruct cooks in food preparation, cooking techniques, garnishing, and presentation.
• Participate in creating new recipes.

Job requirements:

• Experience: 2~3 years of commercial cooking experience is required
• Education: Completion of secondary school is required
• Language: English
