PERSONAL SUPPORT AIDE- IN HOME CARE

A professional family in TORONTO, ON requires an experienced LOCAL Caregiver/Personal Support Aide/ Home Support Worker with recent relevant, paid work experience (caring for persons with a physical disability) to care for a wheel- chair bound disabled nineteen year old adult male and assist him with his Activities of Daily Living.

Days Off: Two Days Off Per Week

Optional Accommodation (Free furnished room with a lock on the door for privacy and all meals and utilities free) available at no charge on a Live in basis.

Job  Duties and Responsibilities:

• Care for our 19 year old disabled son’s needs when parents are at work; 
• Help bathe, dress and fed him, Assist him with mobility, be able to lift and transfer him in and out of wheelchair.
  – Cook simple meals, supervise his medications  and ensure that our son has his meals and medications  on time
  – Tend to his emotional well being; provide care
  – Perform light housekeeping chores around our disabled son's needs and do his laundry, fold and keep away his clothes
  – Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
  – Keep our son’s living areas neat and clean, hygienic and organized
  – Maintain a safe, secure and organized home environment

As soon as Possible

Salary

$19. TO $20. Per Hour for a 35  Hour work week 

Education Requirements

-Must have Canadian High School Diploma, have completed High School or have equivalent education from elsewhere.

Essential Skills

Must have good interpersonal and communication skills. Must be warm, caring, kind, Honest, trustworthy, reliable, punctual, flexible, neat and clean and organized, must be able to assist our son with lift and transfer in and out of wheelchair, must have initiative and be able to bond well with our son and keep him safe and follow his routine.

Experience

– Must have One to Two years of Full-time, Paid, Relevant Work Experience ( within the last three years) caing for a wheel-chair bound person with a severe disability.

Languages

Must Be Fluent In English

Weight Handling

-Should be able to handle upto 10 kgs

-Urban Setting
-Work in Employers' house

Additional Skills

Must be caring, competent, mature and experienced in working with disabled persons and be able to follow their routine and be able to help our son with his Activities of Daily Living and support his emotional well-being.
