Wages:                       $42.50 per hour, 30 to 44 hours a week

Pacific Construction and Surfacing Inc. is an established Commercial Construction and Paving contractor located in Oakville Ontario, and offering services throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

Pacific Construction’s services include new installations and repairs to existing commercial spaces as well as road and land surfaces.  Offerings include commercial construction, road asphalt, interlocking, concrete, epoxy paving and coatings in the commercial and residential space.

Pacific Construction is seeking a self-motivated Project Manager with experience in the industry (or related industry) to plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of a the company.

This includes supervision and scheduling tasks of Paving Technicians, Heavy equipment operators, apprentices and general labourers.

This would be an excellent opportunity for someone with experience to establish their career with a reputable construction and paving company. 

 

Job Duties:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the various construction projects from start to finish according to project schedules, specifications and budgets;
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules. This involves working with trades and subcontractors as necessary;
  • Assist with preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates;
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Develop and implement quality control programs;
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients;
  • Direct the purchase of building materials as necessary;
  • Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity;
  • Recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions.

 

Qualifications:

  • A University Degree or College Diploma in Construction or related industries would be an asset, but is not a requirement;
  • Good time and document management skills;
  • Work well in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communicator with a focus in workplace safety.
