Job Duties:

  • Install, repair, and replace shingles, shakes, and other roofing tiles on sloped building roofs.
  • Install sheet metal flashings.
  • Install, repair, and replace built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt-saturated felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.
  • Install, repair, and replace single-ply roofing systems with waterproof sheet materials including modified plastics, elastomerics, or other asphalt-based compositions.
  • Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or masonry surfaces, both above and below ground level.
  • Install and repair metal roofing using hand and power tools.
  • Erect scaffolding to ensure safe access to roofing areas.
  • May prepare material estimates and provide cost quotations.

 

Employment Requirements:

  • Minimum education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Minimum experience: 2 to 3 years of work experience in carpentry.
  • Good attention-to-detail, accurate, punctual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Work must be completed at the physical location and there’s no option to work remotely.
  • Able to work in noisy, dusty, confined, at-height environment.
  • Able to handle heavy weight up to 50lbs, do physically demanding tasks and large workloads.
  • Basic English communication skills are required.
