Sous Chef

 

We are looking for experienced Sous Chefs for Oretta Midtown Inc located at G120 – 2131 Yonge Street Toronto, ON M4S 0C5. Cook must be well experienced in preparing foods and dishes.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare and cook various menu items following established standards for quality, portion control, and presentation.

  • Collaborate with the head chef and management team to maintain seamless kitchen operations and enhance the guest dining experience.

  • Lead and support kitchen staff, providing direction and training to maintain high culinary standards and efficient kitchen operations.

  • Assist in creating and refining menu offerings, including appetizers, main courses, and daily specials that align with the restaurant’s style and customer expectations.

  • Modify dishes to accommodate specific dietary needs and special guest requests.

  • Oversee daily kitchen setup, ensuring all stations are stocked, organized, and prepared for service with necessary ingredients and supplies.

  • Monitor food inventory, handle orders, and manage proper storage and rotation practices to maintain freshness and control costs.

  • Maintain and supervise the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment to ensure it remains safe, functional, and ready for use.

  • Uphold food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring all kitchen areas are clean, organized, and meet health regulations.

  • Foster a positive team environment by promoting communication, efficiency, and collaboration among kitchen staff.


 

Prerequisites:

Education: Secondary school or equivalent. 

Experience & Skills: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience.

Language: English

 

Hourly Rate: $ 34.10 to $ 37.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

 

Starting Date: As soon as possible

 

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent

 

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay,
