(Sous Chef)

We are looking for a well experienced Sous Chef for “Magna Golf Club” located at 14780 Leslie Street Aurora, ON L4G 7C3 Canada.

Duties: 

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all staff follow proper procedures, maintain high standards, and work efficiently under pressure.

• Assist the Head Chef in designing seasonal menus, special event menus, and daily specials that reflect the club’s quality and style.
   

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes consistently, maintaining the highest standards of taste, texture, and visual appeal.
   

• Monitor inventory levels, order ingredients, coordinate deliveries, and track stock usage to minimize shortages and reduce waste.
   

• Inspect all incoming ingredients and finished dishes for freshness, quality, and presentation, ensuring consistency across all meals.
   

• Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and promoting professional development.
   

• Enforce strict health, safety, and hygiene standards in all kitchen operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and club policies.
   

• Collaborate with the events team to plan, prepare, and execute catering for tournaments, private functions, and club events, ensuring seamless service.
   

• Assist in managing food costs and budgets, implementing cost-control measures, and reducing waste while maintaining high-quality output.
   

• Ensure all kitchen equipment is clean, maintained, and functioning properly, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.
   

• Maintain open communication with front-of-house staff and management to coordinate service and respond to guest feedback effectively.
   

• Quickly resolve kitchen issues, including staff shortages, equipment malfunctions, or last-minute menu changes, ensuring smooth operations at all times.

Prerequisites:

Education:                 Secondary School Certificate or equivalent experience  

Experience:               2 -3 years in the food industry

Hourly Wage:: $36- 38 per hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
