Sous Chef – Jam Café Kitsilano

Description

Jam Café Kitsilano is hiring full-time, permanent Sous Chef.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Prepare and cook various kinds of foods on the menu.
• Make various kinds of appetizers.
• Create new menus and soup bases, sauces.
• Supervise kitchen staff and kitchen helpers in their relevant duties of preparation, cooking and handling food.
• Train and transfer various cooking skills.
• Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness and supervising all food preparation.
• Ensure kitchen is clean and safe for food preparation in accordance with the company health and safety guidelines.

You need to meet the following qualifications:

Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
3-5 years of commercial culinary experience is required.

Language of work: English required.

Your hourly wage will be $21-24.

Benefits: 4 % vacation pay and gratuities provided. Health and Dental provided.

This is a full-time, permanent position.
