Start Smart Childcare Centre is looking for F/T, permanent Early Childhood Educators

Position: Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $18.00-$20.00/hour (Depending on experience)

Working hours: 30-40 hour/week

Benefits:

  • 4% Vacation pay
  • Extended medical/dental benefits

Job Duties:

  • Provide care and supervision for children in a day care program
  • Assist children with daily routines such as toileting, dressing, eating, and sleeping
  • Develop and implement daily activities that support and promote the development of children
  • Prepare materials and equipment for educational and recreational activities
  • Build a good relationship with employees and community service providers working with children
  • Discuss progress or challenges of children with parents and other staff members
  • Attend meeting and workshops to develop and discuss new teaching methods and program meetings
  • Watch for, and remove, any safety hazards as well as maintaining a cleanly environment and day care equipment
  • Assist with children’s individual behaviours and provide guidance to enrich children’s social development

Educational Requirements:

  • College certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education

Certification requirements:

  • First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate
  • ECE Certificate

Job requirements:

  • Experience is an asset

Language Requirement:

  • English
