Terms of Employment: Permanent Position/ Full time
Wage: $27 hourly for 35 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duties:
• Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian.
• Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples, and perform other laboratory tests.
• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian.
• Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery.
• Counsel clients on animal health care.
• Assist the veterinarian before, during and after surgery by preparing surgical equipment,
monitoring anaesthetics and cleaning up after surgery.
• Perform Veterinary office management tasks.
• Provide nursing, wound and bandage care and rehabilitation therapy for animals.
• Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
Job Requirements
Completion of a two- or three-year animal health/veterinary technology college program is required. Experience an asset.
