Permanent Position: Welder
Company: Metro Truck Trailer Repair Ltd.

Wage rate: $37.00 Hourly, for 35 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Evening.
Education: High School
Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience.
Languages: Basic knowledge of English
Job duties:
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and welding process instructions to determine appropriate welding methods and materials
- Repair and fabricate metal parts of automotive components such as exhaust systems, chassis, frames, and body parts using welding equipment.
- Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment, such as gas welding, arc welding, MIG, TIG, and plasma cutting equipment.
- Inspect, clean, and prepare metal surfaces prior to welding using grinders, wire brushes, and chemical solutions.
- Measure, cut, and fit metal components using hand tools and cutting equipment in accordance with precise dimensions and specifications.
- Perform maintenance and repair welding tasks on vehicles and heavy-duty equipment used in the workshop.
- Ensure welds meet quality standards by performing visual inspections and, where required, using non-destructive testing methods.
- Maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe working order and complying with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with mechanics and other technicians to troubleshoot and resolve structural issues in vehicles.
Additional skills: establish methods to meet work schedules, sanitation and safety procedures, clean and maintain tools and equipment used in work.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods.
Essential skills: Working with others, problem solving, job task planning and organizing.
Other information: Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada.
