Job roles and responsibilities

  • Supervise and care for a 5-year-old child in the employer’s home.
  • Prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks.
  • Assist the child with dressing and personal hygiene routines.
  • Engage the child in age-appropriate educational and play activities such as reading, arts and crafts, puzzles, and outdoor play.
  • Provide emotional support and encourage positive social behaviour.
  • Accompany the child to and from school, activities, or appointments as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in the home.
  • Follow daily routines including mealtimes, rest periods, and structured playtime.
  • Teach and reinforce good manners and respectful communication.
  • Communicate regularly with parents about the child’s day, development, and any concerns.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties related to the child’s care (e.g., tidying up toys, cleaning eating areas, and laundry for the child)
